Three Sketches in Quarter Tones
for 2 guitars
(1992)

The main idea of the piece calls for penetrating new sound possibilities of two guitars duet in the sphere of melody and harmony. These possibilities arise due to expanding the chromatic pitch scale by quarter tones. Both instruments are tuned traditionally, but the second guitar a quarter tone lower than the first, so that two instruments mutually supplement each other's scale as if forming a new "double guitar" with microintervallic sound.

In its character it is soft chamber music, pleasant to the ear and, due to microtone accords, with specific piquancy.
